I am having problem wilh my ls460 with ml and wondering if any members have experienced this .when my ls is parked in the sun on a hot day the drivers speaker sounds muffled and there are rattle vibrations from drivers door .had it checked out by Lexus and they changed the amp .I'm still having the problem but it only does it on hot days could the speaker be separating on hot days ?

 

sure sounds like that is the issue, could also be the connection, but seperation of the material sounds more likely, is it one driver or is part of a cluster (mid-hi)? The dash drivers are really easy to get out, pop the screen and two bolts. easy enough to check on a hot day. If its the door, then it could be the mid bass at the bottom, but that doesnt usually sound muffled like a mid or high would

 

yes it is the base i may have incorrectly used muffeled but its the base sounds that are the issue .

 

Then pulling the drivers door panel would help you see if the surround is torn, that is about the only part on a mid bass that goes. The dealer should be able to replace that under warranty if they replaced your amp. its a simple replacement, 3 screws in the door and its an all in one unit that just comes in and out. Its common for them to act up when hot. Its also common for the surround to tear if they are in the door, with the open and closing impact.
