Default ML Problem

Does anyone else notice that you're driving listening to music at a high volume in the RC, you hear a lot of rattles coming from the passenger door. Sounds as if the speaker is popped but I checked and it wasn't meaning that it's got to be something in the door panel. I'm considering putting in dynamat, do you guys think that should solve the problem?

If there is something loose putting in Dynamat will not solve the issue as you'll be putting the Dynamat on the inner door skin not over the wires and such. Trust me you don't want to do that as it is a PITA to take off if you have to fix something.

You need to find out what is loose, and by high volume exactly what volume number is that? Do you have the bass turned up to max as that will rattle most anything?

No worries. Mine does this from both door panels when bass is strong and I have the premium sound system. If I push on the passenger door panel the buzzing goes away. I think that taking the door panel off may introduce more rattles after reassembly.

It can usually be heard around 25. The bass is only turned up a notch or 2. I put it back to default to see if that was the issue but the same thing occurred. I looked into it and if you read this post it shows how to disassemble the door.

I'm thinking about doing this and tape some wires down using some electrical tape.

I too have many rattles in my car. Front doors but the most annoy are the business card holder holders in the sun visors (at least that's what I think those hard plastic slots are for). Mine are not firmly attached and move around. I have brought it up with my dealer at my 1600 km service and when I take it in for an oil change will get them to fix all the issues I have.

That's where I store my parking ticket after I collect it from the entry boom-gate.
