I know Lexus keeps dates quiet, but what is the current "best info" on when the NEXT generation LS will be out?

 

id guess it'll be awhile theyre still workin on the SC.. plus they jus did a mild change on the Ls.. an if trends hold at least 3 more yrs

 

Maybe mid 2013 as a 2014 model. 7 year cycle, just a guess.

 

It will be another 1.5 years. I asked a friend of mine who is a GM at a large dealership when I was there on Friday. The new GS will be out in the Spring is what he told me. They have a lot of new vehicles coming out in the next couple of years.

 

1st gen Sept,1989 (NA sales) as 1990 model year
2nd gen late 1994 as 1995 model year
3rd gen Oct, 2000 (NA sales) as 2001 model year
4th gen late 2006 as 2007 model year

If Lexus follows the same schedule as the last three generations then one would expect a 5th generation late 2012 introduction as a 2013 model year.

Lexus seems to be very busy developing its new lineup, since the LS will be also replaced with a new model in 2013. The current model is a really good car, but it lacks character in my opinion. My dealer tells me the 2013 LS will be a redesign and will be introduced Oct 12, 2012. That is supposed to be official. An unofficial picture of the grill looks somewhat like the new GS.

 

I was told by the Service Manager at my local Lexus dealer that the new LS would be unveiled this fall. He said the GS was coming first, then the ES, and then the LS. So far, he's been correct, so we shall see.
