So i was poking around in the engine bay checkign oil level, fluids etc and I saw this piece laying next to the battery tray...It must have fallen out from somewhere...but where?

That's what I thought but no, terminal has cover already.

I think that's the cover for the Johnson Rod.

Nah, you might be mistaken. It almost looks like the cover for the muffler bearings.

Amazon's remember me might be able to help?

It's a long shot but I always identify products and check prices using Amazon's tool. So you might want to try it if you have an iPhone or iPod Touch.

There is an iPhone app for Amazon.com that offers a service where you can take pictures of literally any product and it identifies it for you.

Probably isn't going to offer much of help here, but there might be another app that could do it for you. A friend of mine showed me an app on his Android-based phone that could scan any bar code of any product and identify the product and find the best price on the web.

Well, if your car is still running fine, it can't be that important.

Heck, I've disassembled and reassembled engines and had more parts than that left over!
