Default only 1 key FOB

okay so I purchased the used LS460 from a local indep dealer (Texas Direct Auto). Absolutely one of the worst dealership...and the guy, Darren is an absolute crook...definately live up to his "used car saleman" tittle.

anyways, after signing all the paperworks...he said since it's a used car, there's only 1 key fob...well since everything is signed, not much I can do so that's it. I'm glad if anything wrong with the car I don't have to bring back to that damn place ever again...at least that's a good part out of this deal...let's not get into all the lies he fed me too..

anyways, so now I only have 1 fob. Do you guys think i need to purchase another one? I think Sewell sells them for around $120..not sure how much is programming charges. I can live with 1 key (and the master key attach to the fob) as other vehicles i have in the past, I never had the need for the spare one (although surely it's nice if I happen to ever loose the one).

Do you guys ever used your spares or have the need to ?

The question is how much will it cost you if you lose the only key you have for the car? I think a lot more than $120.

So I think you should get another one.

I'm with JFNash...get another one. If the battery goes out on the fob, you'll have a backup. I turned down a purchase because of only one fob and no manuals. With dealer markups, the least they can do is have a set of keys/fobs.

1st of all like JF and mad said, it'll cost more, but will be worth the peace of mind knowing you have one. You will need a locksmith for the door if keys are locked in there, and then I'm sure you'll get a replacement after that. Yeah, he definately did you wrong, but spend the money. It'll be worth it.

This is something that you should have checked before you signed the paperwork. Just because its a used car, doesn't mean it only comes with one fob. It simply means that the last owner was careless and lost the fob or the dealership/auction stole it.
