heh heh, I did just that.. I trade in my 08 LS460 before xmas so that I don't have to make this tough decision (I have another year of lease to go.. If I were to own the car, I would definitely do the recall..).. You should be able to drop by any Lexus service department and have them look up your car's record...

I had the VSR done in November, I do not have an extended service agreement, but I did get the $500 gift card. I also got a $1,500 voucher towards the cost of a new Lexus.

I spoke with a Lexus Corp. representative a couple of days ago about an extended Lexus warranty. He said that it had to be purchased from a Lexus dealer, not a Toyota dealer. How sure are you that it is an official Lexus Platinum Warranty? Is he correct?

In July 2010, I bought a Lexus Platinum Warranty for my LX470 from Jerry Johnson of Midwest Toyota in Kansas.

I am hundred percent certain that what I have is an official Lexus Platinum Warranty, from a Toyota dealer.

Toyota dealers can sell the Lexus warranty if the dealership also has a Lexus store (somewhere). I actually did the opposite....I bought a Toyota Warranty from my Lexus Dealer

The warranty was the genuine Toyota warranty.

It's not true. Lexus Corp. wants you to purchase from a Lexus dealer. A friend of mine purchased a Lexus platinum warranty from a Toyota dealer for a lot less than what he was quoted at a Lexus dealer...
