ML amp repair
Well, sent my ML amp off to United Radio on Fri. God I was hoping by some blessed reason i could come across an alternative that wouldn't be so expensive. By far the costliest repair to my LS thus far......smh.

My amp was replaced under warranty. Otherwise I would have cost me about $1000 at the dealership.

That was a quick turn around. Since the ML amp issue does affect may people. Please update status good or bad in the future. Also, This might be asking for too much information, but what type of repair was needed and what did your repair cost ?

There is actually a sticky about this specific topic.
From what I understand, if the amp was sent to the facility in upstate NY, Syracuse I believe, they say that the way that they repair it, it's highly, highly unlikely that it will fail again., and I think the repair, the last I heard was $700-$750.

It's been a 14 months since United Radio repaired mine for $700 and has been flawless!

Don't know exactly what they replaced, guess I should have inquired as I did shell out $725. It's got a 1 yr warranty and they shipped it return in packaging that if I have to return it I can use same box. It actually seems louder(output) now that the new components are inside.

The amp (indicated by part number) was changed in 2010, presimably to solve the blowout problem. A number of people have said that the newer ML systems have poorer bass response, compared with the 2007-2009 ML system.

So i assume United Audio will fix the Non-ML amp as well? I think my amp went out in my 07 is350. At start up i would hear the rear passenger speaker pop every time i turn on/off the radio? Will this be the amp issue? The radio comes and goes. If i was to turn turn it off and on about 10-20 times the radio will sometimes start working again.

Well....my amp failed this morning with the dreaded chirping sound. I called United and they are still able to repair them, the price will run $400-900 depending on the serial number of the unit.
I gotta say...my LS460L has been the most babied car I've ever owned, and the least trouble-free. I really think Lexus took a turn for the worse around 2007 or so, their quality aint' what it used to be. My '95 SC300 was like a hand-built car of jewel-like quality, both mechanically and cosmetically. My '05 GS300 was like an anvil - not a single failure of any sort in 95,000 miles. But the LS has been a non-stop experience in breakage. And the loaner cars I get from the dealer also seem flimsy and superficial.
