Default CD tracking does not work

I have '07 LS460 (16k mi). Has anyone experienced any problems with the Tracking buttom on the CD player? When we listen to a CD and want to change the track, for example from track 3 to 4, or track 3 to 2 it does not change.

Any help is appreciated.

Check with a Lexus Dealer. Sounds (NPI) like your car is still under warranty.

Default C/D Track

Is it doing it with both the radio button and the steering wheel button? Just C/Ds or does it happen with SAT or Radios?

I have been hesitant to tell you this, but just in case you don't know. When changing to a lower track, you must hit the "down track" twice to get to the next lower track. If you want to go to a lower track you must hit the "down track" twice, quickly. The first time you hit the "down track" it takes you to the beginning of the current track and then you have a short window to hit it again to go down one track. The "up track" should advance one track up for each switch operation. I hope this helps.

Thanks JMCraney you are correct, it both works, the radio and the wheel button, just hit it twice.

Thanks for the input.

June,

Glad your problem is resolved. I was hesitant to tell you about the down-track oddity because your description didn't exactly fit that and I didn't want to add confusion. Having to hit the down-track twice to go down is a common characteristic of most CD players. The first time I encountered that it was very perplexing to me.

Thanks again for your input JMCraney. I usually just listen to the whole CD! I've never had to change the track before.

Thanks,

June
