Been there, done that -- wish people would learn to drive. I think anyone who rear-ends someone should lose their license... it's inexcusable. STOP TAILGATING!!!!

There's my rant of the evening.

From the pictures, maybe it's just the lighting or the car is dirty, but it doesn't look like the bumper matches terribly well -- maybe they'll get it right this time for you!

Good luck. What a bummer right before the holiday.

Getting hit twice really sucks.

I've had a couple close calls in the Seattle area where we either sit in traffic or play accordion while hoping everyone is looking ahead.

Hopefully it will look like new soon.

Tailgating is a major issue in the US for sure. My mom had an accident 2 weeks ago with the Toyota Camry I got her in 2001(start of the year) it was a 2000 Camry and she was also rearended. Same issue as you as she got hit when making a right turn into a shopping center and the lady behind her didnt stop going full speed into her left rear end mostly and totaling the car.

She was upset because she loved her Camry and had no issues with it. She now has a 2007 Camry and is happy but, still says she misses her 2000 Camry. Just glad shes ok, and your ok!!! L.G.N.M

Traffic wasn't even moving. The guy said his foot slipped off the brake.
Probably hit me at about 4 mph.
It pushed both sides of the bumper past the quarter panels.
Not much support on the back end of the Lex.

I think all car bumpers are now that rubberized plastic, foam-filled stuff, and designed for that type of response , even at slow speeds ..I dunno, i miss the bumpers from the '80s with 'the shocks' ..

If im not mistaken, bumpers still do have shocks. Now they are covered by so much plastic and junk, you would think that nothings there.

The bumper shocks of today is the styrofoam. What you see in the pic is merely the fascia / cover. Followed by styrofoam and supports. Chances are, at 4mph, it will only require replacement of the fascia -- maybe a support or two. When mine was rear-ended, it buckled the quarter panels and required replacement of the bumper, exhaust tips and refinishing of the trunk, bumper, both quarter panels all the way to the pillars. I just had part of it redone because I could tell where the repair was. It's still not completely undetectable, which drives me a bit crazy.

I repeat... those who rear-end should have their licenses automatically revoked -- it's the epitome of poor/aggressive driving!

Yep. The first time they had to replace the back part of the trunk pan, the left rear quartr panel and an abs computer that is right in the corner of thecar.
