What are major differences bt. the ls460 and ls460L??? I want to know cause the price difference is almost $10k more for the 460L.

That sounds about right. They gave me $43500 for my 2007 (short wheel base) with 23500 miles 3 weeks ago. That was wholesale. Add for CPOing and the usual dealer pound of flesh and you are retailing in the high 40s.Originally Posted by scorpio74

Truthfully I would ONLY consider the "L" if I was a B-I-G person (I'm not) and money was no object.

As I recall when I bought mine, the only other diferences were the leather for the seats was a little smoother/softer and they used a different material for the headliner. Frankly, unless you need the extra legroom for the rear seat passengers, the SWB will do the trick.

I think the original poster is well aware of the extra length wheelbase, he is asking what is he getting for the 10K extra as standard equipment.

LWB has standard Navigation, Front Heated and Cooled seats, Rear heated seats, Power Door Closers, Power Trunk Open/Close, Power Rear Sunshade, Wood and leather trimmed heated steering wheel, Headlamp Washers. These are all options on the SWB and come in the form of various packages.
Per my calculations, the cost of these options for the SWB is about $4,200. (Comfort Package plus Nav)

one thing i did not like in my SWB was not having the rear side shades...for the babies...other than that and the ability to get the datasystem's kit for the air suspension, i'm happy with the SWB with the options i got (nav/ML/comfort)

the other options like others have stated are also important (leather upgrade, rear seat heating/cooling, and sunshades...) but to me, the most important is the air-ride.

if your not gonna mod your car, i guess the SWB is acceptable. but if your gonna throw a set of wheels on it and do even a little bit of modding, you gotta get the LWB LS.

Curious that no one mentions the ride, by that I mean is the ride itself different? I would think that the longer wheel base might feel different on the highway. Similar to a MB SE vs MB SEL. Maybe the technology is so improved that it is negligible now days? For those that have driven both extensively, any thoughts?

i don't know if it's the wheel base or the air suspension, but from my test drive the ls460l ride is noticeably better than swb
