Default Problem with left rear door and glove compartment

My car has been around for 4 months and I am hearing an unpleasant loud noise whenever I open the left rear door (passenger side, RHD) slowly. The noise is very obvious when I open the door almost till the end. I already checked all the other doors and there is absolutely no noise.

I think that there is also a problem with my glove compartment lid. The lines of the lid and the center stack doesn't seemed to be aligned, this has been bothering me since I got my car and I don't know if you guys have the same problem too (refer to picture). I am bringing the car in for its regular maintenance in early August, do you think that the service center will fix these problems for free or even try to fix it?

*That is not my car, I just found that pic on the net

I don't have any of the problems you mentioned.

The glove compartment in the picture seem to be that the cover is out of shape. It does not look alignment to me.

You can show the following TSIB to you dealer and have him fix the Glove Box under warranty: http://www.lambros.net/tsib/2007LS/L-NV005-07.pdf

He should also repair the door under warranty.

My car is a 2008 model. The glove box door is not loose, the lines are just not aligned with the center stack.

if its closed, can you push against it so that it moves slightly? thats what it means to be loose

My glove box door had some slop in it initially. There must be some adjustment available in the assembly because they were able to take up the slack. If you look around the cabin, there are some alignment (door, trim, etc...) discrepancies here and there. As for the rear door, can you describe what happens when you do open it fully (creaking, scraping, rubbing)?

That what I thought because the top and bottom parts have very small gaps, while the middle part look like little bulged.

The quality of the led material does not look good, the led looks distorted.

This quality of the finish and the material used in the compartment is about the only thing I don't like about this monster.

I have a early release 07 that had the glove box problem. The first one reported as far as I know. The door didn't close tightly and hung down slightly so there was an obvious and uncharacteristic space at the latch. It could be pushed up into place but wouldn't stay. The problem was reported to Japan because there is no adjustment.
A fix was developed (replace the latch I believe) and my car was fixed about 4-5 months later. I have lived with and fixed many of the problems with the early builds. That's why Consumer Reports says WAIT until at least the 2nd year of build before buying a redesign. I'm to impatient...such is life.

That problem is exactly what I'm having with my glove box door.

The door makes a creaking noise.

Have them replace the glove box (I have had it done twice) until you are happy. They will do it and it will..be fixed. This is the type of fit and finish issue I have complained about but the car is still great. Good luck.
