I think it looks better without front plates. When we bought our LS600h I almost forgot to tell them not to drill the front bumper. I was worried and called back ASAP the next morning and told them to not drill it, good thing it wasn't drilled yet. Our saleswoman was freaked out cause she didn't know where the car was in the dealer and didn't want to have my request in too late hahaha.
for 15 years i was so against putting front plates on any of my cars. when i started getting parking tickets everywhere i parked in san francisco for front plates missing it started to look nice. especially when each ticket was $50. Even if my attitude was to just pay off the fines to keep the plates off, i found it silly to be paying such a premium for something so minor.
After awhile it started looking normal. It's like driving without a rear plate would look really nice but after getting pulled by the police after so many times you'll be like this is stupid.
I've had my 460L since April and I still don't have the front plates on & it looks nice. I think it still looks good with the front plates though since 99% of the other cars I see everyday have the front plates on & I am used to seeing them.
I disagree that it's going to look good without the rear plates though, with the bare rectangular indentation, it looks kinda stupid ...

It's better in the South Bay for no front plates. Thirteen years Acura, fourteen years Toyota Supra, five years GS400, four years GX470, four years ES330 and almost two years, LS460. However, I was ticketed once in the GS400 by the CHP for illegally tinted driver and front passenger windows but luckily, the officer didn't walk around to the front of the car.
I have had my LS since last December without the front plate on. I have not been stopped or gotten a ticket yet. I carry it with me in the trunk just in case they stop me. Even though in my state we are suppose to have both the front and real plates showing, they are not enforcing it very much at all.
We don't need front license plates in our state, but I've had personal plates on all my daily driver cars for years for business purposes which identifies me, my business and the company name.
I would like to see some examples of real nice license plate "frames" in black (or chrome) to see how it looks. I have a black LS460L and want to buy a frame that improves the look from the front of the car.
i prefer no front plate any time, but ls460 is one car that i am ok with front plates
I agree,I really dont like the plates on the front of some cars,it depends on the car,In my honest opinion I think the LS has a plain front and the plate gives it a couple more lines,If you noticed all the aero companies (Wald,JP,Ricercato, etc)they all show a plate on the front of there show cars, so that has to tell you something

i should of said putting on the lexus display plate or those vanity plates vs a license plate.
