Post So how about the 2008 LS400/LS460

anyone take a look at it lately? yeah it's ridiculous (in a good way of course)...seriously this thing is amazing...and then the Hybrid... 100 more HP??? didn't know a hybrid could do that...haha wow though...i mean it's not cheap of course, but still it's amazing to look at the technology in these things...and these sheer amazingness of this car.

Ok 2 things.

First of all, there is no such thing as a "2008 LS400."

Secondly, wrong forum.

With the new CAFE standards we're more likely to see an LS350 with the 2GR-FSE V6.

(I'm kidding by the way; hopefully they'll never resort to such measures.)

yeah to be honest...I wouldn't want to see Lexus go back in time...haha...it's amazing what they've built to this day but even some of their older technology in their cars was so ahead of even some cars today, it's kinda sad to know the American car industries are being destroyed =/ oh well what do i car i have a Lexus too, =p

haha...get this, i pulled it from article:

"Asian and domestic manufacturers have never paid a civil penalty." (for abiding by the CAFE requirements)

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/cafe/overview.htm

and shoot my '91 ls400 puts out better emissions than most cars built within even a few years ago...i'd say that's pretty impressive, even when i went to get it smogged it passed by a looooong-shot

pretty amazing to know that i have such a reliable car (especially after reading about the '89 ls w/555k miles) except i think my power sterring pump is going now =/ everything is fine though so it's all good

IF THE POWER STEERING GOES USE MOBIL ONE SYNTHETIC TRANS FLUID WHEN YOU CHANGE OUT THE PUMP IT WILL LAST A LONG TIME.

you dont need toyota fluid for the PS, anything that meets the Dexron spec is fine, incl. synthetic.

luckily you're not the only one with power steering problems in the 1st gen LS400. I go through one entire quart of ATF a day because of a valve leak, and I just don't have the time to get it fixed...until next month or so. At least I can get a quart of ATF for $3.00...one gallon of gas...
