The tech at my dealer knew nothing about a TSB for tires when I spoke to him today. Someone on the forum said something about a TSB for tires. Mid to late June for window retro fit is what they told me today. I'm first on the list at my dealer and will post info when they give me a call. July for the transmission delay TSB.
Mallory, that sounds great. My dealer didn't know there was a problem with the tires. I have the Dunlop's on my car. I haven't heard anything from my dealer in regards to the wind noise. I'm first on the list and I'm also waiting for the transmission TSB to be issued as well. I live 110 miles each way from the dealer, so I would like to have both things taken care of at the same time if possible. Let us know what you find out and I hope the new tires are better than your other set...
Mallory, that sounds like a good plan. I wish Michelin would come out with their new MXV4 with a 60,000 mile warranty. They don't make it in our size right now.
Quieter, more precise, and longer lasting,* the Michelin® Primacy™ MXV4® tire isn't just a better tire. It's also a better value. That's because the Michelin Primacy™ MXV4® tire breaks traditional compromises by simultaneously improving ride, handling and tread life.
It's also the first Michelin® touring tire to carry a 60,000-mile manufacturer's limited warranty† on both H- and V-speed ratings.** So you'll not only enjoy a better ride. You'll enjoy it even longer.
Michelin engineers pioneered a number of technologies to make the Primacy™ MXV4® tire better, safer, and longer lasting.* No matter what you value in a tire, Primacy™ MXV4® delivers.
I've never had a bad set of Michelin tires. If I were to replace my tires, I would buy Michelin's.
I have the Dunlaps on my 460 and they ride like the runflats on my 03 sc did. They are very firm and rough on sharp bumps and expansion joints. My dealer has agreed to replace them for me.
My dealer is replacing the Dunlaps on our 460 after 3000 miles because they are just riding way too rough. They feel like the original runflats on my 03 SC.
What are they replacing them with? Are they doing this at the dealer level, or is Lexus involved at all? Are you out any money for the swap? I have Dunlop's on my car and they do ride rough. I would rather have Michelin's...
The dealer went to the regional Lexus office for approval. He has gotten approval to replace them with the Bridgestones, which ride MUCH smoother, but I am pushing for Michelins with them right now.
That sounds good. Please let me know if they will replace them with Michelin's. I'm not interested in Bridgestones. Firestone and Bridgestone are the same company...
Yes, but like Mercedes & Chrysler, they are headed in different directions. Bridgestone suffered by association. I've always been satisfied with their products, although Michelin gets the nod, albeit an expensive nod.
