Default Headrest

I just got an LS460 a week ago. I'm very happy with it, except for one major annoyance. I can't seem to get the driver's seat headrest into a comfortable position. I have tried all sorts of adjustments to the seat and the headrest, and regardless of the adjustments I make, the headset still seems to push too far into my neck or the back of my head. It is also very hard.

Anyoone have a similar experience or have any suggestions. I am quite tall (about 6'2").

I'm not that tall, maybe that's why I have no problems with the head rest. When I lean my head back, it touches the head reast center-to-center and I keep the headrest half way up. Since you're tall, have you tried lowering the seat and raising the head rest all the way?

I have, but I don't think lowering the seat has any effect.

I meant the seat cushion. But it wouldn't matter either because I think the only part that goes up or down is the front of the seat cushion. It moves back and forth too, maybe if it's all the way to the front your butt would sink more and your head would be a little lower in relation to the head rest...

so where exactly is your head hitting the headright currently that is uncomfortable?

choice b, get some sort of neck/spinal transplant <-- might be a bit expensive

i find myself not using the headrest a lot. Usually my head is a few inches from the back when im driving. Only when im cruising on a long journey highway that i put my head back.

I know what you are saying, just a little uncomfortable. I felt this same way about my benz... It is like the head rest should be just slightly farther back...

[QUOTE=RXSF;2522907]so where exactly is your head hitting the headright currently that is uncomfortable?

If I raise it, the top of the headrest juts into the back of my head. If lower it, the bottom pushes into my neck.

Exactly! And a little softer. Any solutions?

you know that leather cushion they have on the 7 series? its like a leather pillow that goes between the chair back and the headrest to block out that hole? buy one...im pretty sure it wont be leather, but they do sell them. you just attach it to the two bars.

That sounds very promising, but I'm not exactly sure what you are referring to. Could you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

its more tastefully done. perhaps there are aftermarket versions that can be made in leather...
