I think the appropriate procedure would be for you to first bring the car in to service and have the problem checked and documented. If they can't fix it because it is a "feature" of the car, they you can call or write at the following place. Be aware that there appear to be two types of complaints....one is concerning general dislikes, suggestions, about features on the car. These do not get an answer and are reviewed 'whenever'. The second type of complaint is when there is something wrong with the car (as opposed to it being a feature), you have taken it in to the dealer, you are dissatisfied with the response. then it gets sent to a specialist. This acceleration problem seems to be in a grey area and at first they tried to tell me it was they way the car was built......and I tried to tell them that it would be wrong for 'any' car to have this problem, whether or not it was 'accidently' or 'purposely' programmed into the system. They finally forwarded the complaint to a specialist and I am waiting to hear.

I'm not sure if this is the case, but if this feature affects mileage then if they remove this "feature", they'd have to re-adjust all of their mileage claims. They may not want to do that.

Who knows what goes into their decision. But I bet that you or anybody else would not put up with a $90,000 car that hesitated on acceleration.

Anyway, I don't think gas mileage would be a factor if they just speeded up the shifting into gear so that it was faster than our foot going from the break to the gas peddle.
