2nd Gear Start Mode
Anyone make use of 2nd Gear Start Mode on surfaces other than snow?
I've been in some really slow gridlocked traffic the last couple weeks and decided to turn on 2nd gear start mode. Just prelim...but sure seems a lot smoother in really slow/crawl traffic. It seems to detune the throttle as well since I notice the car accelerate by simply turning this mode off. This is one of those options you can toggle on/off in the center display of gauge cluster

I tend to use manual shifting in light traffic so I can use the tourqe to jump ahead. Changing this setting is an option but doesn’t seem practical as you would have to go back into settings. Setting it for a month or so with snow conditions, Sure.
Yeah... I'm talking bumper-to-bumper traffic at just a few miles per hour. You can leave on that settings screen to toggle on & off. We have some really bad areas up here in western Washington.
Fairly sure you can turn on in motion...definitely turn off in motion. You notice a small rush in acceleration when turning off. It reminds me of turning snow mode off on my G35x as that mode modifies accelerator sensitivity.

I've been using this a few times lately during stop and go traffic and it really helped with sudden jerk that so commonly found in 1st gear.
When using it, I switch to S mode and in either 2nd gear to prevent speeding up and braking.
