Default Lease Info?

Does anyone have the leasing #'s (MF, residuals) for the LS460L's or LS600HL's?

Thanks,
Jim

I wouldn't expect to see any leasing numbers until the actual prices are announced, which is scheduled for September 15th.

if anything i think it's how dealership wants to do it. i don't think lexus will have a "general" program for current ls430 owners?

and yes, about residuals, etc.... no one can tell until the price of the car is officially out

It's a no brainer currently there is very good leasing program going for the remaining Ls430's. However for the 460 expect the lease starts from $900.00 +

On an $86K L460L I was quoted $1540 per month plus tax and title, 36 months, 12,000 miles per year, .20/mile over 36,000, $48,131 residual.

Just curious, what kind of job does not require you to be that smart and still pays $275K per year?

I wouldn't lease a car longer than 36 months/15k yr...that is pretty much the standard.

That's on the high side, my 2006 BMW 750Li Sport is $1400/month, including tax, 36mo, 12k/year, MSRP is $90k, so LS460L will be close to $1700/mo with tax.

I have no intention of paying that much. The problem is that without having any inventory, and with all the deposit they received, there is no motivation to give me a good lease number. I intend to wait until they have a car in stock that they have not sold, and then I should be able to negotiate it down to around $1200-$1300 per month before taxes.

Default The lease payment look a little bit high but not much

You can either figure the lease payment by hand or find a lease calculator on the net..

Lease payment = depreciation + rent (financial charge)

Depreciation = (cap cost - residual )/ term of the lease

In your case, the cap cost is 86K+ 550 + 100 = about 86650 or so. The 550 is the acquisition cost or disposition cost. It can range from 500 to 750. I just picked a number in between. All lease need this one. and 100 is document fee. change from dealer to dealer. It can be $40 or it can be 300.

Residual is what your dealer quote you: 48K

so depreciation is (86650 - 48000)/36 = 1073.61/month

Rent (financial charge) = (cap cost + residual)xmoney factor

Someone quote earlier in this thread that the current money factor for 460L is 0.00255 for 36 month 12 kmi. This number change month to month and dealer sometime mark it up(add some profit into it).

so in your case it will be (86650+48000)x0.00255=343.50

so the grand total is 1073.61+343.5 = 1417.11

My guess is that your dealer pad the money factor to something higher and get it to 1540. He made about 123x36 more on the deal...

lexus (infinite too) allow you to pay up to 9 multiple deposit (in this case, it should run into 13K range). For each deposit they lower the money factor by 0.0001 (we did it for our 02 LS430 and 02 SC430). So if you do 9 deposits, it should lower the rent to 222.17 and your total to 1295.78 (a saving of 120/month). Remember in some state (e.g. Ca), tax is applied on monthly payment. So if you are in Ca, you will save another 8.75% of the 120, another 10 bucks or so. If the finance guy don't know that as him/her to call Lexus. Our finance guy didn't know that when we got our 02. Hope that help.

Very helpful, thank you! For me, the key to getting the monthly payment down further than that is to get a discount on the car, so I guess I will be waiting until the dealers have some inventory and some motivation to deal.

Default waiting is certainly the best way...

given the big difference between MSRP and invoice, one can certainly get a better price by waiting.. A 3600 discount will save $100 a month + tax (if you are in California or other state that may tax as part of the car payment) for 36 months lease (and more per month for 24 months lease). It is just a matter of reducing all the factor one can control (price discount, lower money factor, higher residual - have to wait for manufacturer to run special on this).. Good luck. LS460 look like a very nice car. Too back we are empty nester now and probably want to have a smaller car. IS500 sound like a lot of fun..
