I average ~25mpg with a pretty even mix of city and highway driving.

I wanted to post an update because I filled up and took the car on a 100 mile round trip today, all highway, and I got just a hair over 24mpg. I’m happy with that. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive. I just wish I could drive it everyday, but I commute and don’t want to run it into the ground; plus the fuel costs are high. The ES serves me well as a commuter, and it’s cheap to maintain.

We drive from Roanoke VA to Easton PA and back every few months and regularly get 28-30 mpg on that trip (doing 70-80mph).

HERE! HERE! I 2nd that motion!

But Keith, if you're varying and running slower, and have clear traffic, I can definitely see getting 30 mpg or very close. I have gotten a skosh over 30 mpg before, but I was by myself and really trying for mpg. With the family, and as far as we have to go, I'm going to be ... hustling. Well, hustling based on *my* idea of hustling.

My daily driving is more rural than probably most. And when I do drive the car, I actually go a bit slower than the rest of the herd. So I just chill back and croooooze. So my numbers are slightly higher, maybe.

I'm averaging a skosh over 20 daily driving. But like I said, it's mainly small town cruising. I'm about to do a really long interstate drive. I will bet money it won't be 30 mpg. 3 adults, luggage, full A/C, hustling. I'll be doing good to hit 25 mpg I think.

Your 12 mpg does sound a might low. Not saying anything is wrong. Your driving conditions maybe more STOP and go that what I may be imagining.

AWD seems to get 5 mpg less than RWD cars
