Default Can I deep six the nav screen as default???

Every time I start my 2017 LS, the NAV screen pops up and the first thing I do is press “menu” to change the apparently default nav screen (2/3 of the width of the screen on the left) to a fuel economy screen. The 1/3 of the screen on the right is kept at A/C. I’ve had my LS for over a month and I’ve yet to discern whether or not there’s a way to change the default Nav screen that appears every time I start the car - regardless of whether the “AUTO SCREEN CHANGE” is set to “ON” or “OFF” as other posters have suggested is the culprit. I’ve tried both “on” and “off” several times and after changing the nav to a fuel economy screen and then turning off the car, the nav screen pops back up on the next startup 100% of the time. Again, this occurs regardless of whether AUTO SCREEN CHANGE is set to “on” OR “off”. I want to never see the nav screen unless I summon it. Is it even possible to have the default screen be set to fuel Econ on the left and a/c (or music or media) on the right? Please help. Thanks in advance for any help or input.

I never use nav but that info must be in your owners manual, if you don't have one you can download one at Lexus.com. I have a few pictures I use as a background or just shut the screen off when it's done loading.

Yes, I have all the manuals that came with the car, and NO, they have not helped as thus far I’ve been unable to find a solution and there’s nothing I’ve seen in the nav manual stating whether or not the nav screen can be changed as the default screen upon startup.

Default H8’N the NAV

Nope? Yeah, I guess I’ve just gotta accept it and appreciate all the good the car has to offer. Thanks for your candor.

Did you click the save button at the bottom of the screen or just turn it off? I tried that and it worked fine...it went to whatever screen I chose after cycling the key or re-starting the car.

Default Did I click save?

I don’t think I did. If there’s a “save” button further down the screen after selecting on/off, I’ll try it and let you know. Thanks.

AGAIN, no luck. After setting “Auto Screen Change” to “Off”, I then scrolled down several times, cycling through each page and THERE IS NO “SAVE” or “SAVE SETTINGS” button there, so I’m back to square one. Please, someone tel me where that darn save button is??? Thanks in advance…

When you are in general settings scroll down one page to see auto screen change, select it and when you choose "off" the save button lights up on the bottom of that screen like in the picture...select save then back out of that menu or cycle the key.
If yours doesn't show up like in the picture then they might have removed that feature for 2017, Toyota likes to cheap out on last year model productions.

Default No “Save” button

Thanks for the reply. Mine is a 2017 and the “Save” button definitely does not appear. If it was removed in the last model year or two, I don’t follow the logic. It was already present in all the previous model years, so why invest time/money in removing the feature?!?! Ugh!!! I thought I had it and it slipped away. Man, I hate that Nav screen even more now.

I've been reading about this and it seems the 13-14 models with gen7 nav have this feature and the 15's have their own nav system then the 16-17 have another version. When Toyota adds a feature to a car something else gets deleted to make up for it.
