Default How to get wire from trunk into cabin

Hi everyone,
I am trying to install a new HD backup camera and connect it to my new android stereo. I am having a lot of trouble trying to find a path for the wire from the trunk into the cabin. I found where the wire loom goes from the trunk into the cabin but there's a hard plastic "grommet" plate that I can't remove and I can't see it from the cabin side. I drilled a hole through the plastic grommet plate to the side of the wire loom but I'm hitting something hard so I stopped. I tried using a wire fish rod to push a path through the grommet plate next to the wire loom but there's no space. See pics below.

Any advice on a way to fish the wire from the trunk into the cabin? Thanks in advance.

This is a closeup of the plastic grommet plate from the trunk side. There is no space around the wire loom and the grommet. You can see the hole I drilled to the left of the wires.

This is the same view as the other pic but just a wider angle.
.

Remove back seats & itll be self explanatory from there.

Be careful when you run the wire thru the plastic plate, as the other side inside cabin is the passenger side seatbelt. Keep wire away from seatbelt to prevent damage to the wire.

i installed aftermarket amp & used the same route as you running the power line from battery to trunk.

Thanks. I ended up figuring it out. I popped out the little airhole plate in the corner of the trunk and was able to fish a path into the cabin. See pics. Thankfully I didn't need to take out the seats.

Trunk side with the rod I pushed through after popping out the air hole cover.

The rod coming through the other side into the cabin next to the rear seat.

Thanks for this info, you mentioned you did not have to take out the seats. Did you have to remove the backrest ? in seems like it on the last photo correct? I am trying to make out the last photo. Is this the groove in between the back seat & the door?

You might want to PM him. He posted over 2 months ago so he may not return to this thread to see your question.

I had an LS460 with reclining rear seats. I don't know what rear seats OP had in his car but when I had valved mufflers installed there was an unused hole in the right side of the wall behind the right side of the trunk / rear seats that was used to feed the wire through. No drilling necessary.

Hi, sorry for the delay. I didn't have to take out the back seat or the backrest. That last photo is of the mding between the driver side rear seat and the door. I popped the molding from around the seat belt shoulder area down the side of the rear seat between it and the door then down on the sill on the bottom of the door opening. Hopefully that makes sense. If not I can post another picture of what I'm talking about.
