New Lexus Owner (Please Help)
Hello all,
I’ve recently imported a 2008 Lexus LS 600h AWD (short wheelbase) from Japan.
It has been a little bit of a learning process figuring out how things work, and the front heated and cooled seats are great. However, I was under the impression that there were heated rear seats as well.
I’ve looked through previous threads and videos on the LS 600h, but my setup seems different. There are no controls in the rear seats, and there are no rear seat controls up front that I’ve been able to find.
Does anyone know how to activate the rear heated seats in the vehicle, or even if this model includes such a feature?
Thanks in advance

Interesting. It doesn't have a leather dash either. Please post a picture of the cluster display with the car on. Rebadged 460? It's probably like Swfla suggested, different features from different market.
Being a Japanese spec car, most folks here don't deal with them. I'm wondering if it meets US regulations for safety, emissions, etc. Most JDM cars don't. They need to be 25+ years old to be exempt.

Bare bones JDM config comfort wise. Pioneer audio, no rear seat comfort center. 115kph tops on cruise and top speed is limited too.
For connoisseurs - did you spot the MD player slot?
May have other fancy but useless things like toll device in the glove box, fish eye cam in place of upper glasses box (part of g-protect system), and traffic accident sites live feeds display on the screen (obviously obsolete and out of service even in Japan).

I'm pretty sure that with both the LS 460 and the LS 600h, you needed the LWB versions (LS 460 L, LS 600h L) in order to get either of the rear-seat comfort packages. After all, it doesn't make sense to put that stuff on the SWB model.
In the US, we only ever got the LWB LS 600h L, as far as the hybrid went. We never got the SWB LS 600h.

My 2013 SWB 460 has the UL pkg. No ottoman. Vibrating massage, heated/cooled rear seats, center console with ML audio, climate, tilt seats, shades, beverage cooler, etc. Pretty rare but I doubt it has much extra resale value because of it. I do wish the front seats had massage!
My Jap import LS600h does not have heated seats in the rear either. FYI, the rear coolbox is only a storage box and not a cool box.
Exceptions: If its a LS600hL (long wheel base); if it has the 2 seats rear option package; or if is has the basic luxury options package.
More downsides to the Jap models:
The beep if you dont click your safety belt cant be turned off.
If you change Nav/Audio/Climate centre display to English, it wont change the little screen in dash board to English.
And the Japanese writing on the front sun visors.
Upsides:
Jap imports are usually only one owner from new (maybe second hand cars cant be legally be sold in Japan??)
Meticulously maintained to high standard
Maintained with genuine parts only
Probably many other pros or cons
