Hello everybody. I have a somewhat weird scenario with my 2017 LS460 RWD. Car has about 36.5K miles on it and I'm driving it every day. Earlier this summer while doing 35K maintenance I also got my brake fluid flushed by local Lexus dealer and everything was good until I went away for a few weeks. When I came back few weeks later and started the car I heard loud burping sound when released the brakes. I thought it was a case of a corrosion on the rotors (we had some rains here). After driving around I figured it makes this sound every time I release the brakes, even if car is stationary in park. After few days it quiet down big time but sometimes still does it if I step on the brakes hard enough. No lights, no warnings of any kind and everything feels normal. I wander if somehow brake system wasn't bled correctly by the dealer and after sitting for a few weeks air made it into the actuator. Is it something that would require complete bleeding with the Techstream? Appreciate any ideas.
I can't guess what the dealer did or didn't do. Sometimes dealers have issues with doing things wrong. Even though it's been several months, bring it back to dealer. Brakes are a serious component.
Why would you flush your brakes at 36000 miles?I have a 2003 toyota tundra and never flushed the brakes still perfect!
LS460 requires brake flush every 2 years regardless of mileage, in states like Florida, I would do it every 12 months. You could switch to more stable fluid, however, I don't know maintenance schedule for that. If you don't, well, try and see what happens.

I assure you that you have nowhere near the pedal feel or ABS response that you otherwise would.....to say nothing of the corrosion and buildup inside the system.

Why? Still perfect? Have you tested the fluid? I think you'll find it's far from perfect. As in life, a balance is best. You're on the neglect end of the balance beam whether you agree or not.

It was flushed because of the age of the fluid, mileage is not that important. Also, wasn't comfortable with the water content after I tested the fluid.

Don't know about ABS response but my friend got his rear brake leaking one day. When he took everything apart he found inner bore of the brake cylinder pitted and corroded. When he took apart the rest of the brake system found similar damage everywhere. Ended up changing all four corners. He said he never changed his brake fluid because everything was working fine until it wasn't. LOL

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Trying to find closest available appointment.
Wasn't that a symptom of the brake actuator recall a while back?
There is a YouTube that has the sound a failing unit can make. I believe it's not technically a recall but a program that extends replacement time and miles. Not trying to nit pick your post but there is a time and mile limit on the "coverage".

Nah. I have that CSP 23LE04 letter from Lexus, they just sent it to me few month ago. They talking about completely different condition. You suppose to have all kinds of faults and warning lights for the actuator to be condemned. In my case no warnings of any kind and car drives and brakes OK. It is just that weird sound it makes when releasing pedal. It is also getting better as I drive every day. Dropping my car off at the shop today, will see if bleeding brake system will fix it.

My 2014 was making a similar "burping" sound and the dealer replaced the actuator. This was back before the recall. Replacing the actuator eliminated the noise.

My local mechanic found this service bulletin that was calling for the brake bleeding, then if issue remains updating brake control module software and only then replacing the actuator. In my case it was fixed after complete brake system bleeding. So far everything behaves as it should.
Clearly, it's not a "one size fits all" diagnosis. Forum members try to give their best "guess" but it always boils down to hands on. Sometimes several different approaches are required. Glad it worked out for you.
