Default Old school Apple plug in glove box

Does anyone know if this plug found in an 08 LWB came originally with the car or someone installed afterwards?

Thank you.

Not factory. Someone probably had a Vaistech or similar add on installed (may still be). I had one in my old LS430 with that same dongle for an ipod I kept in the glovebox.

I think you got to controls for it in that version by pushing the satellite radio option / button.

This is the same style iPod connector in the glove box of my wife's RX350. The dealer installed it at our request when we purchased the vehicle.

That first one looks old enough to be a DICE!
