2008 LS600HL transmission problem
Does anyone know what kind of problem of my CVT trans has ? I got the transmission replaced a year ago and since then I keep driving it and it has no problem whatsoever. But about 3 months ago I started to notice that when I let go for the gas peddle for the car to cruise alone the rev idle will somehow goes up by almost 1k rpm, and then when I push the gas paddle again try to accelerate it goes down again. And this situation happens sometimes but not every time. And I also noticed that if I go downhill and let the car cruise alone the rev idle will go up quite a lot up to almost 2.5k rpm. I know something is happening to the car but it do rent show and fault code. I try test drove my friend’s LS600 and it doesn’t have this problem. Right now I’m sort of thinking maybe is the clutch plate or the flywheel gone bad. Since I know this model can experience a bad flywheel. And also the car will jerk a bit every time I accelerate to 50mph mark and after a sec it keep going smooth with no problem.
Suggest you have a shop check for OBD2 codes. Codes are indications of what is wrong with the system. Codes are different than dash lights. The symptoms you describe can be attributed to several different systems. Not just the trans.
The OP has posted two different issues since being a member. Both times, it was suggested he get codes and report back. It appears that isn't the answer he wants. I hope I'm wrong.

just got the car back today, they said there is no code showing on the techstream that related to the issue I’ve been experienced. The only code that showed up was the PCS and they found out it was the battery almost die causing the light came on. After replacing the battery and there is absolutely no fault code whatsoever. But the issue still there after I test drove for 30mins
I had a very long and sad story with my 600H since the day I purchased from Atlanta( I live in SoCal). I was planing to drive back to LA as a road trip for myself but end up tow the car back cause the previous owner lie to me about the car condition and sadly the car overheated and absolutely fried the trans on my way back (tons of smoke was coming out from the AC air vents). Since then it has been non-stop fixing all the issues it has.
I'm glad I was wrong. Is the replacement transmission used or rebuilt? Another member suggested checking fluid level. I do know that the standard trans is very sensitive to fluid level as well as needing a fluid change despite being a sealed "lifetime" fluid. Not sure about CVT fluids. Regarding a fresh battery, often Lexus cars require several hours of driving to relearn certain functions, like fuel management. Give it a few more hours of driving, can't hurt. I did a google search (works better than forum search) and found several CL threads about the 600h CVT. Suggest you read them as there is good info there.

what’s the dealership name. Perhaps we all can leave a review and force him to make it right for you.
