Default Removing MAF sensor from harness

I was trying to remove the MAFs to clean them using CCC but they seem stuck in there really good. Holding down the clip doesn't seem to work. Any advice?

Also is this even something I should be doing if the car isn't throwing codes? Have people done this and gotten better mileage/performance/etc.

Just don't want to break anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

A screw holds them in.

I got the screws out okay. It's the connector that's stuck. Don't wanna force it since I've heard of a lot of people breaking them

No need to unplug them. Ignition off and spray the inside sensors thoroughly and they're clean. No worry about cleaning connectors that are so tight dirt can't enter.

I was concerned that I might cause a short doing that because the bottle says not to, but yeah that would make it much easier considering how insanely tight they are.

Okay so try as I might I just can't safely remove the lower left screw. Is it feasible to remove the whole air filter cover and do it that way?

Well to remove a connector you first need to spray it clean with brake clean, then PUSH it in, then hit the release and pull it off. Use a micro pick/flathead to lift the lock free as needed.

Typically there's only two screws. You said lower left, that implies more than two screws. You sure you're removing MAF sensor? This should be a simple operation. Not sure if you're being super cautious or just low mechanical skills. Not being critical, just puzzled that you're having so much difficulty.

Haha, can't it be both?

But yeah, no what I meant to say was it's the left sensor I'm having trouble with because the bottom screw is so hard to access and I'm being super cautious about losing it. I'm using a magnetic screwdriver, but still. The right side sensor (driver's side) should be no problem. Sorry for the confusion.

Gonna give it another shot tomorrow when there's more daylight. Thanks for the tips and insight all
