Unhappy Drone issues with muffler and resonator delete

Hey y'all, I finally decided to pull the trigger on getting some exhaust work done last weekend! A muffler delete alone seemed too quiet. I met another LS owner and his resonator + muffler delete sounded great. After some more research, I opted for a resonator delete and muffler delete with 3-4" tips.

Right now I'm feeling like a made a huge mistake. You would think the car is straight piped with how loud the car is. Not to mention, the drone in low RPMs is unbearable. With a light foot on the gas, enough to maintain your speed on the highway (65-80mph), the car sounds good, but still fills the cabin with exhaust sound.

Has anyone experienced something similar? The shop I went to didn't even bother removing the resonators correctly and just hacked it off with a sawzall. I'm unsure if they can be welded back on.

I am thinking about getting a set of 1320 Fireball Mufflers and hoping that solves the droning issue or try to have the resonators welded back on.

I'd greatly appreciate any other suggestions!

I recently removed my mufflers as well (kept the resonators) and its still really loud at low rpm as well.
I'm thinking I might try to get some aftermarket mufflers put on instead, i wanted some rumble but the oem quietness is definitely sorely missed!
I feel your pain, my thought would be to try and weld the oem resonators back on and then the mufflers you are thinking of.
if the oem resonators can't be welded back on maybe look into dynomax bullets

From what I've heard on YouTube, resonator delete + muffler is definitely too loud for a luxury car, just makes it sound cheap. I believe muffler delete maybe bearable but I've never heard that setup in person. I was thinking if I should just add cutouts so it will only be loud when I want. I'm just not a fan of the hollow Mustang note that you get when you delete both. Maybe replace with some sport muffler to tone down the resonator delete. For some reason when I had a Fujitsubo cat back on my old gs430 it was pretty quite you can barely hear any exhaust sound. Everything else I've heard is just too loud and doesn't suit the car.

Why not just a resonator delete alone and leave the mufflers stock ?
usually this leaves it a little louder than stock without the drone

From what I saw online, a resonator delete alone made a small difference with the massive stock mufflers. I was looking for something louder.

Yea I was listening on YouTube and the resonator delete just makes a more hollow sounding exhaust, it's still very muffled by the mufflers. Ppl were commenting that muffler delete will drone.

You removed the components specifically designed to reduce harmonics.
