Default Nav screen is spotty/dirty on inside

I've noticed my Nav screen on my 01 LS430 seems to be spotty with small circular clear dots on the inside of the screen and has gotten progressively worse. The touch screen works perfectly fine as all the control buttons. I'm assuming the touch screen itself is not replaceable or would require extensive disassembly to do so... Anyone have any clues, or am I destined to learn to live with it? I can see the maps ok, but of course there is this distortion and distraction along the center middle lower part of the screen which can be annoying. Thanks all. PS... I doubt it very much, but can the reader in the trunk or the disc be an issue?

Difficult to say without photos but LCDs don't really have a tendancy to fail in spots.
It sounds more like you have either wear or else water/condensation in there.
Probably easiest to just replace the unit with a used one, or else try one of the Android units.

Thanks BigBoomer. I too think there might be a condensation issue as the A/C vents are below the screen. Has anyone on this forum ever pointed to a preferred Android unit that works most effectively for our LS430? or more specific for the 01-03 units? I'd hate to go through the motions of having one installed only to find out there are numerous glitches or shortcomings that affect the a/c, audio, or Nav systems. How difficult and pricey is the install? Thanks again.
