Hey mate, that sounds frustrating. Not sure how we can help, other than to suggest you take photos showing what is happening and either get your parts house to get the right part or a refund.

i was just wondering if anyone else has had trouble like this with a 2004 lexus ls430. i have had somone say it has something to do with the month this particular model was made. ive tried 3 times now with 3 different parts houses and all three have come back with the part that matches my car but it will not fit.

Try entering your vin number on a Lexus online parts website and cross reference the OEM part number to aftermarket equivalents.

There are 3 different "2004" models. Some were made in late 2003, some were made in early 2004, some were made in late 2004.

I've looked online and I can see 4 different numbers for fuel pumps.
77020-50010, 77020-50020, 77020-50030, 77020-50040.
The first 3 seem to be for 2000-2003 models and the last is for 2004-06 models, but they all look to be the same size.

If you wouldn't mind, by any chance would you have any photos of those fuel pumps that were "too big"? I am having the same issue except they're too small. I have a 2003 LS 430 and even the part listed when searching by vin through Lexus did not fit.

So I am having an issue finding the correct fuel pump also. The one on the right is the OEM one from the car. The blue one is the Delphi aftermarket part, as you can tell the nozzle on the Delphi is much longer and would not fit in the plastic housing in place of the old one, I returned that one and got what seemed to be a smaller pump made by Import Direct and that one was also longer than the OEM one. So I have ordered the VIN matching OEM pump from Lexus and hopefully it matches up.

What was the final result on this, please?
I have a 2004 Lexus LS430 & my mechanic has not been able to figure out why the engine light keeps coming on. With no Lexus on the Big Island, it's hard to get proper diagnostics done. (I'm on the mainland but my daughter drives it on the island). Now it won't start at all & someone thought it was the fuel pump and Napa provided the wrong size. Our production date was May 13, 2004
