Hello I am Sander, from the Netherland. I am 40 years old and this is my 5th LS. This is an LS430 from 2001. The paint is Black Cherry. Ivory Interior.
I also have a Toyota Avensis that is converted to 3S-GTE and 4WD

I started with cleaning the interior and removing scratches from the paint. In the future i want to change the wheels to something nicer, and add a 15 inch JBL GTI in the trunk.
Cleaned the LEXUS logo. Got out all the dirt and dried up polish from the previous owner. Removed a scratch from the fender, sanded up to 4000 and then repolished the paint. Removed a scratch on the C pillar and repolished. Cleaned the engine bay. First run on cleaning the seat.
Small section cleaned to show the difference. Driver seat finished. Cleaned the black mess that was around this vent panel. Removed the black dirt from the door rubber that was on the panel. First run on cleaning the foot rest. Second run on cleaning the foot rest. Removed all the dirt from the doorhandle. Before... After...
Welkom Sander, dat is een mooie LS :-)
I wanted one in the Black Cherry (my favourite colour) but could not find a good one so I bought a blue one.
How many miles/km on your LS?

Thank you, this one has around 270.000 km on it. My first Dark Blue LS400 had around 320.000km when i bought it. This one drove like new (from that point i was blown away by the quality and hooked for life), even still had the plastic protection stickers on the door sills in the rear which they install in the factory to prevent transportation damage. My second LS400 Dark Red had around 175.000 km on it. My third LS430 President Mystic Sea Opalescent had 107.000 km on it. My fourth Lexus LS430 Silver metallic Excecutive had around 115.000 km on it when i got it.
Black Cherry was not a colour i was looking for actually, i had a LS400 before that was Dark Red (but not as nice as this colour). Went to check out the car and was in such a good shape, never smoked in it (the Dark Red LS400 i had before was been smoked in, never again), and maintained VERY well. Colour is then less important.
The Colour grew on me and i like it a lot now.
Sounds like you are an experienced LS owner then. :-)
I bought mine with 91k miles (146k Km) and now at 130k miles (210k km).
I wanted the Cherry as so many cars are silver/black/blue and I am bored of them.
My last 4 cars were dark blue or dark grey so I wanted something different, but when I saw the one I bought it looked so nice.
3½ years later, apart from a little rust on the passenger door, it still looks great.
I am an ex-smoker so my LS is my first non-smoker car.
I would probably avoid smoker cars now as well.
I agree with @sqlboy2000 , you have skills. Nice job. If I was more motivated, I would, but I am a renter with no garage and do not like getting into things too deep. You have me beat, I am only on LS #2.
Like @BigBoomer , the dark colors grow on me, blue and black cherry. If I had a garage, perhaps my 2nd LS would be dark, hmmm..
A few weeks ago i have sanded the top of the rear bumper and repolished it again.
This week i finally had some time to work on the car again. Removed the old Nokia carkit which came with the car. Dashboard looks a lot cleaner with that hideous thing gone. One of the front speakers had a rattling noise, opened the door and the foam surrounds were detoriated. I ordered new foams and replaced them both. The rear speakers will get new foam next week, i also ordered foam for these today.
The steering tilt and telescope was not working, the tilt is functioning again, all i had to do was remove the hardened grease and re apply new grease. The telescopic motor is also still working but this one is harder to get the old grease out. Will look at this another time. If anyone has a tip of how to do that i would appreciate that.
I have my paint supplier mix up a small can of Black Cherry Pearl paint and whenever the weather will let me i will repaint some of the damaged paint areas.
