New to me LS430 UL
I am new to Lexus, but have had many interesting cars over the years (M2, 996tt, E36 M3, etc). My grandfather unfortunately passed away this year from cancer
and my grandma wants me to take the car as it was his baby and he wanted someone that will take care of it. I currently have an M2 which I daily, but want to find a 996 or 997 gt3 which would require a dd, so this seems perfect. The car is absolutely pristine. Here are some of the specs:2004 Lexus LS 430 single owner

White ish interior?
55k ish miles

I have a lot of researching to do, but it sounds like these things are pretty bulletproof. I have all of the records for the car (even NAPA receipts), which is great as well. As far as plans go, it will get an exterior detail ASAP, and needs a tint. Not a huge fan of the wheels (stock chrome) or the gold badging, but also don't want to do anything crazy with it. Looking forward to learning about the car. Unfortunately I don't have pictures yet, but I will probably pick up the car in a week or so and will share then.
Thanks,
Evan

Maintenance was definitely done and have records for everything.
I have two of these V8's and it's the only thing I don't like about the engine. They are an interference design, a broken belt is not a coast to the side of the road event. Well it is, but the aftermath is very costly.

Check the tilt for up/down and in/out, those commonly go out as well.
If you have a Mark Levenson stereo and the bass doesn't sound right then probably a blown woofer that is a $20 fix.
Timing belt due to age but honestly you'll be hard pressed to find a post about one actually going bad.
Trunk or Hood shocks might need replacing but again, simple cheap fix with ones off Amazon.
These are solid cars that will go a long time with some basic maintenance.

My condolences on losing your grandfather.
My Dad is on palliative care for metastasized Pancreatic cancer. With major surgery he beat the Pancreatic cancer but it spread to his liver and lungs. :-(
If you're into BMW M's and fast Porsches then the LS will feel a bit sedate at first.
Once you're sure it's good to go w.r.t. maintenance, find a nice empty twisty road, switch her to Power and Sport mode and give her some attitude.
She's soooooo quiet but sooooo fast and surprisingly good through the twisties,... for a 2 ton car.
She has a nice muted growl from the engine too once you start thrashing her.
I ride motorcycles for my thrills but the LS can get your heart racing if you want her to.

Cancer sucks.Loving the car so far. I actually love the smoothness of it coming from the m2 which is fairly harsh (in a good way). I keep it in PWR mode constantly as I like a bit more throttle sensitivity. Need to try out the Sport setting a bit more!
