Correct firmware version for mini-vci Techstream cable?
So I'm looking at the different mini-vci cables on Amazon so I can hook up the Techstream software but I'm seeing some users saying that the firmware of the cable makes a difference whether it will work on your car. I read that you want the older firmware for vehicles under 2005. Not sure if this is true or not but if anyone could tell me exactly which cable and firmware version their cable has, I would greatly appreciate it.
Is version 1.4.3 or 1.4.1 of the mini-vci J2534 what I want?
But you forgot to mention in your thread that i was right 100 percent after you tried to question my advice to you. LOL
My old cable worked 90% one time and then some driver issue kept it from ever working again. Bought another cable and installed onto a completely different laptop and got it to work using new software and driveds. Still not sure if it was a cable, software, or driver issue on the old laptop, but its cute you remembered my name and came and brought this all back up. Maybe one of the moderators can put a little ribbon next to your username.
BTW your suggestion wasn't even right as I still totally used a chinese manufactured device and what is most likely pirated software. Just needed a different setup.
For the record. Issue was solved with a VXDiag VCX Nano from vxdiagshop.com.
I installed the drivers and software onto a different newer laptop with new drivers and their provided 15 series software and all features including the "customize" function worked flawlessly.
Yeah, so anyway... which version cable did you guys use that worked?
IIRC the computer you install it on is the most critical aspect, 32-bit machine (not 64), older version of Windows, etc...
I tried it a few years ago on 2 different laptops to no avail.
