Default GPS Screen Resolution / Grom VLine2

Forgive me if this has been answered already. What is the resolution of the LS430's nav screen? I'm onsidering the Grom VLine2 and I wanted get a sense of how Grom's vector graphics will look on such an ancient screen.

Thx!

Without the capacitor, you'd encounter unstable problems. I'd use one of these capacitor 0.47uF/16V for the ripple and RF noise rejection for the stable operation of the ECU.

The native resolution of the screen is 400*240. It looks ok for majority of the tasks you need to do in the vehicle. Check our videos on a similar vehicles:

Is this for the 2001-2003 LS430 or the post facelift 2004-2006 models? Also, earlier in the thread someone mentioned needing a capacitor, is one needed if i get just a Grom VLite for a post face lift LS430?

The VLine VL2 or VLite VT2 systems will fit the 2001-2003 LS430 with factory nav. Correct model is LEX3L, check here:
https://gromaudio.com/store/all-lex3l_.html
For 2004-2006, the correct model of the VLine VL2 / VLite VT2 system is LEX4:
https://gromaudio.com/store/all-lex4_.html
Also requires the factory navigation for compatibility.

There is no need for a capacitor in any VLine VL2 or VLite VT2 system installation.

I’ve been thinking about your system for my 2006 LS430. Your installation manual is very light on details. Makes me hesitant to buy your system.

Thank you for your feedback and for your interest in the GROM VLine VL2 system. We do not provide detailed "how-to-disassemble the dashboard" guidelines for each specific vehicle; however, our installation guides contain all the necessary information on how to connect the system to the back of the stereo and display. You can check here the install guide that is available for your vehicle:
https://gromaudio.com/docs/vline_man...manual_web.pdf

We also have many installation videos available on our YouTube channel gromaudio. Here is the install video made on Lexus LX 470 with the LEX4 model of GROM VLine VL2 system:

It will give you an idea on what is involved to install the VLine VL2 system into your vehicle.

I have a question re microphone options. My 2005 LS430 (Navi) has Bluetooth phone capability (not great). With the Grom system, is there an option to use the already integrated Lexus microphone for phone calls through the Grom or will I need to install an external microphone? Looking forward to the group order opening in Sept! Thanks!

For the 2005 Lexus LS430, you will be able to use the factory microphone for CarPlay and Android Auto phone calls. You do not need to install an external microphone.

I have the Grom Vline2 for my 2008 IS350 with the stock screen. Unit has been a GREAT way to add carplay and keep stock screen/HVAC controls.

The install for me was a bit wonky- a couple of the ports were identical, so I had mine plugged in wrong until I took a closer look.
If they had called out color coding or a bit more detail on connections it would have helped. But I figured out, no biggie.

Love the unit!

You can check the demo on the same generation stereo here:

For 2004-2006 model of Lexus LS430 you need the LEX4 model of VLine VL2 or VLite VT2 system, available here:

Have you fixed the "deep sleep" issue that was affecting the last software update?
