Default Front Speaker Repairs Guide (DIY)

I thought Id quickly pop by an lease a reference for a DIY Repair for blown rings on the front non ML Speakers. Unfortunately in Australia no repair kit was available, so ofcourse i used what was available.

Required -
Masking Tape or Painters Tape
Nitto / Duct / Electrical Tape

I can tell you now the car is back together, it is tight, sounds fantastic (Better than before) with alot of bass and no cracking or popping like before. Worth a Go? I say yes. If you are wondering about if there is enough play in the speaker, i was worried about that also but seemingly no issue so happy days.

Yes the painter tape is still under the electrical tape. It served as a solid base to wrap in tape. I went for a drive last night and I can comment that the bass coming out of the speakers is just incredible. I will keep you all updated if the Australian Summer heat holds up in the next 6 months

Likely the tape won't hold over a couple of high heat summers. Good temp fix. Thanks for sharing. Not hard to get a decent set of 6.5 inch replacement speakers in the US. Crazy how availability and price varies so much from on country to another. I made several business trips to OZ in the late 90s. On subsequent trips I brought in Lands End dress shirts, Levis, Reebok tennis shoes, and music CDs by request for friends.
