I keep her outside and over the last few years the South Florida sun has really taken a toll. The hood, roof and trunk lid were awful. Plus dings and dents from over the years.
I took her to a local body shop that was highly rated and while they were very helpful, they didn't have the facilities to paint entire cars. So the guy referred me to Maaco in Lauderhill. I was of course a little skeptical. It is Maaco after all. But I wasn't gonna pump $4k into a paint job on a car that's worth $7k
So went and got an estimate which came to $1600. That included replacing driver side mirror which has been dead for a few years. (I brought the mirror) and buffing the headlights. Completely stripped the hood, roof and trunk lid before repainting.
I have to say, for the price I'm impressed. We'll see what she looks like in a year. I have a 4 year warranty.

Wow, looks nice!! So was that like their premium package or something? Did they use a base coat and then put a clear coat? I think their cheapest package is like an all in one coat or something from what I heard.

It's just below the top package. That would have been $500 more. Yes. There is a base coat and then clear.
No. The biggest dent I had was about the size of a golf ball on the fender next to the hood. I can't see any trace and they told me they were able to pop it out.
I have to tell you, Maaco has been my go-to place for a few years. Bumper covers, touch up, rust repair. They haven't let me down, and the cost is reasonable.
They pump out so much work, that I figured they had to get something right occasionally.....
As they say, "Even a blind Squirrel gets a nut every once in a while..."
Looks great! Now you have a new car! Reminds me of the days of being a car dealer in the 1970s. I got an Earl Scheib paint job on a Volvo 164 for $69. When I picked it up it was still wet!!! Lol.
Nice! Buddy has same issue on his Navigator L. I finally got a chance to see what he meant when I was down in FLA. With my car being from FLA, it makes me wonder, what is the best state to get a car from after all.....I saw a LS430 in SC with mint chrome rims. But is it cuz of SC or redone....
