The red triangle is programmed to come on with "Maint Reqd Soon" every 4,500 miles (and again with "Maint Reqd" at 5,000 miles) to remind you to change your engine oil.
You can reset the warning light (you don't necessarily have to change your oil every 5,000 miles) by the following procedure:
1) With the ignition "ON" push the trip meter button on the dash-board repeatedly until you have a blank display (for example, neither A nor B trip mileage is displayed).
2) Turn ignition "OFF", and while pressing and holding the trip meter "RESET" button on the dash-board, turn the ignition "ON"
3) Keep pressing and holding the "RESET" button until the "Mileage Reset" appears on the display and a warning tone sounds.

Check out post #7 from this thread on how to reset the light. You’ll just have to track your maintenance schedule yourself.

You can go into the schedule menu and set each and every item you want to be warned by date or mileage. When to change battery, filters, tires, wiper blades, steering fluid, etc, even allowing you to name and use a couple of buttons for whatever you want.
