I have a 2002 Ls430 Millenium silver with the UL package, mark levinson, air suspension, 18 in chrome wheels in good condition with 191K miles. I am going to sell it and get a Ls460. It's been a great car but I'd like something a bit newer.
Any ideas on the value? I am in Atlanta if that matters.

In my market, trade in less than $2,500. private party sale less than $4,500. not very much. most dealers will wholesale a car this old to auction so not much room for negotiation. are air shocks original? when was last timing belt changed? this might make a difference, but people are not lining up to buy these cars and buyers might be scarce. sad

I was gonna say 3-5k.....so at that price, why not keep it as a beater.....I was just doing the carfax thing today and it says my car is worth $10.3k trade in, no idea where it even came from, it's on my phone. The chances of me accepting that number is about 0% lol I would rather drive it to work and back daily. It also says my oil change is overdue and has a red !. That threw me for a loop, because my dash is lit up. Then I realized this app is just making stuff up....though the reggie and inspection stuff is right on, so it's connecting to some database, maybe dmv

agree on price however id sell because of potential suspension repair costs. maybe needs a timing belt too.

true....it's always something.....needing a new suspension would kill the value......up it a little and sell it fast...advertise $6500, and try to get $5500.....my .02

Based on selling a similar car about a year ago, you would be lucky to get over $4,000 to $4,500. I acquired a '03 ML/Nav with 65k and sold my '02 UL with about 170k. I had some serious dents in the front drivers door. Also, it was almost time for a timing belt, brakes and some other maintenance items that I had deferred knowing that I would acquire the '03 from a family member.

I am sure you got your money's worth from the '02. In the long run, a $1000 more or less isn't going to change much, My guess is that it was the best balance of value, comfort and performance that you have ever owned. I hope that is true, at least, until you find a great LS 460. Best of luck to you.

Sorry but I would agree with under $5K for a 2002 LS.

Whatever I get, the car still was worth it. Most luxurious and reliable car I've ever owned. I bought it used over 8 years ago with 90K miles for $17K.
If it sold for $3k. That comes out to $145/mo plus the maintanence which was surprisingly cheap. I can't complain at all so the replacement will be the Ls460. Hope it is good as this car was.

Yep, look at it realistically....you could have purchased a new Elantra or something for the same price, and have driven it 100k, and you'd be faced with the same decision today. But you enjoyed the use of the LS430 all those years....
