Congrats to the OP! That is a real beauty and a well cared for 430. Enjoy it in good health.
I try to visit regularly and keep up with the latest conversations and learn a few new things to pass on to my Dad since the 430 is now in his garage. I wish he drove it more to enjoy it. It remains a garage queen. Ironically, Dad treated his 1995 ES 300 the same way 20 years ago and only driving it on weekends or special occasions. Our 2013 LS has over 10K more miles than the 2006 LS.I do feel more emotionally attached to the 460 than the 430, but truth be told I think the 430 has better headlights for nighttime driving and the 430's front seats are more comfortable. For all the adjustability in the 460 driver's seat, I still can't find a setting that is as comfortable as the 430. The 460 is faster though, handles better, and rides better on 19s compared to the 430 on 18s, but not as good as a 430 on 17s (I know this because my mechanic loans me his 430 when my LS is in for service). I don't know what a 460 with 18s rides like. I still find the 430 striking in its own way when I visit my parents. A well-cared for 430 is a phenomenal car. The 430 does everything so well to a fault and it was easy for me to take it for granted. The 430, for all its greatness, doesn't stir the soul like the 460 does for me. And I do notice the 460 Mark Levinson is better than the 430 ML system.
Sorry, OP, got carried away making comparisons. Honestly just wanted to catch up with tallca and really mean to compliment the great choice you made in the 430. There are aspects of the 430 that I miss and didn't appreciate enough when I had her. In four months of ownership, I've already been to the dealership 3x to check the ambient lighting and fix issues with the 460 glove box. The 460 also is way off on MPG estimates whereas the 430 was spot on. The 460's ventilated seats are also not any better than the weak ones on the 430. Congratulations on a beautiful find, OP!
