Shifting to Drive
hey guys just bought a 2006 lexus Ls430 with about 97k. When i shift my car from park to Drive it jerks, its really annoying. my brakes even make noise trying to stop the car from moving, i just want to know what the problem could be and what i can do to fix it.. please shoot me some information so i know what steps to take.

Again, this is subjective.....when I first got the car I had that sensation, as did my wife. I thought it would be cured by replacing the LCA bushings, and it was not. I feel it's the way the car behaves, but I know some others don't agree. Personally, I think that when you are able to drive other cars, then you have something to compare with...I feel the LS is "divey...."
Ditto with the car taking ms longer to start than many cars--the way I look at it, is if a thread exists already about the topic, then it does exist as others have noted the same thing...my .02....

Replacing your transmission mount can do wonders for this. Lexus calls it a "Rear" engine mounting insulator - 1237150170 - about $85 from Lexus of S Atlanta.

Very easy to replace yourself. The torque specs are lower than you would think, I don't remember them exactly, maybe someone else can chime in....
Aftermarket mounts are available if you want to save a little $$$ but I would stick with Lexus/Toyota.
