Any magic to install

Latest Navigation Map Version 13.1 in my 2003

Just purchased both the East & West Nav DVD`s off Ebay. Can anyone tell me what states are covered in either of those disks ? Plan on staying
west of the Mississippi river as we live in New Ulm,MN. This way I know which DVD to install. Thanks.

 

The disc I got last Sept. was U30 15.1, not sure if there's a newer one now, but it covers North America....not sure why you'd have to choose which half of the country you want?

edit ah you must be gen 2/3, not 4, which I believe is 2003 and older....

copy/paste from web, apparently East vs. West only affects POIs, and both discs contain maps for the entire USA.....

BOTH WEST AND EAST DISCS CONTAIN ALL ROAD DATA AND MAP DISPLAYED POIs FOR THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES. THE DIFFERENCE IS WHEN USING THE DESTINATION SCREEN AND SEARCHING FOR A POI BY NAME USING THE WEST DVD, THE RESULT WILL ONLY DISPLAY POIs BY NAME LOCATED IN THE WEST PORTION OF THE COUNTRY. VICE-VERSA FOR THE EAST DVD.SEARCH BY ADDRESS, POI, MARKED POINT, PREVIOUS DESTINATION, EMERGENCY, INTERSECTION AND SEARCH BY MAP WILL LIST ALL POIs WEST AND EAST.

Whatever you install, it is much inferior to Google Maps on your phone - in data and interaction.

 

The only time google has failed me big time was during the NFL Draft a couple weeks ago, it was aware of many road closures, but not nearly 1/2 of them....otherwise it's pretty amazing. I mean if it can save you 10 min. on a 1 hour commute, that's something....meaning the real time traffic is incorporated...

 

Yep, I've even had a mid-course correction for a faster route...amazing!
