My drivers side mirror only folds about 2/3rds of the way in. I generally don't use the folding feature but every now and then it is helpful. Any ideas? Could it just need some lubrication? The car is an '03 Nav/ML with 70k and I like to have everything in good working order.

 

So I just purchased a 430 so am no expert but will it fully fold in if you gently nudge it? I'm just thinking that if it does, and you don't feel any obvious resistance than it may just need some lubrication like you're thinking.

 

I have noticed that with mine, when I fold them the right mirror goes either 1/3 or 2/3's in and then stops. I then have to flick the switch back and forth to get it to go all the way. Yet, when it is warm or hot out, the mirror folds all the way, but during cool or cold weather it stops 1/3 or 2/3s way. Could be motor, gears, belts, or whatever is used to retract the mirrors.
