Default FIGS Lower Arm Rear Mount #2 Bushing LS430 Application

Would like to hear feedback from anyone who has these installed on their LS430. I have had an '06 Custom Luxury for a year now, and have gone from 107k to 120k miles. In service date October 2005. I have noticed some slight steering wheel shimmy on highway across both my winter and summer tires on different rims, and fairly recently had a dealer (Pohanka Chantilly) performed alignment. I'm thinking of treating myself to a set of either the 80 or 90 durometer bushing/brackets from FIGS. None of the history indicates the bushings or control arms have been replaced. What is the real difference going to be between those two, and is it worth going this route vs. getting some OEM bushings pressed in to existing brackets at probably a smaller cost?

Also applicable, the car currently has Michelin Pilot Sport AS+ tires. I plan to eventually replace the tires if not in Fall, next Spring, and will consider both the UHP All Season Michelin at the time (currently AS3+), or the Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS+ Grand Touring. That said, I am open to going performance oriented vs. stock boat touring machine.

Not sure if anyone here has tried all 3, but I can chime in on OEM.

The dealer as part of the multipoint said I needed new LCA arms and bushings at 83k or so, 11 y.o. They made it sound like I may not pass a state inspection SIGH (totally bogus).

So I went to an indie with my own OEMs...the indie said I highly doubt you're going to notice any difference, as they are not that bad. There were visible cracks. I had a vibration 60-65.

I believe that vibration went away, so I drove faster, and noticed a vibration over 70 mph. Got the car aligned, and now I don't notice any vibration at any speed due to the car (drive a new rental car, depending on the road, there can be a vibration, but not very pronounced).

I would love to try the 90, see what that's like, then go to the 80. My goal would be to somehow outperform OEM, without sacrificing anything. Maybe the 80's are more in line with that objective? Let's see what others say...

edit PS lately because it's on my watch list, OEMs were $101/pair, I paid $62 each....just checked and sold out again....

There has been some discussion about NVH and longevity of polyurethane bushings (including FIGS) compared to OEM. Most owners preferred OEM.

The durometer will depend on how you use your car. 80K is slightly more supportive that OE, but will not degrade like the rubber will. 90K would be more for spirited/heavier braking to resist the additional load.
We have had no complaints on additional NVH because our bushings are designed for progressive support (conical profile) and resist more proportional with load.

Bump! I'm looking at the bushing conundrum again, and still thinking about the FIGS. However, the website doesn't explicitly list the 2006 LS for fitment, and the 01-05 has a caveat (must remove teardrop factory taper washer).
Additionally, the manufacturer for 80 durometer says SuperPro, whereas 90 says FIGS. Are the actual bushings themselves made by different manufacturers? Is there any quality difference between them?

I have the 90a poly bushings and they are amazing I like them very much. The fitment is the same for all years, look at my thread were I did my install.

Anything that is on Figs website I would buy no questions asked, mike is a super stand up guy as is everyone that works for him. Every product they offer is top of the line and has had a bunch of r&d behind it.

I’d just like to reiterate what Johnhav430 mentioned about what to expect after replacing LCA bushings with OEM. Unless the rubber is gone and metal is touching metal don’t expect any difference in the cars handling. Mostly, LCA bushing replacement is a money maker for Lexus. I changed mine that were cracked and lost all fluid as I got a great deal on the OEM bushings. Car rides exactly the same with the possible elimination of a clunk on hard tight turns. This part can go a long long way before necessary replacement. They all crack over time which doesn’t necessarily affect performance.

They are already pressed into the bracket and are plug and play, though like the FIGS, you'll have to lose the taper washer. You can do both sides for under $100.

thinking I need to do my bushings because I get a shimmy at highway speeds when going over pavement cracks, 102k miles.

what is required to get rid of the taper washer?

the FIGS option is impressive, I wonder if there is a way to get the price down from the $360 a pair.

do you have an Indy think you use, or do you turn your own wrenches? If so, would you mind sharing your information with me privately? I think I would like to do mine as well. 04 with sport suspension.
