Default Has anyone replaced the LOWER engine shield?

My engine shield lost a few screws and came loose. Now it is cracked. Has anyone replaced this? I found the replacement shield but I am curious about the fasteners and getting it on correctly.

This is for the large black shield under the front of the vehicle.

Taking it off and putting it back on is easy but time consuming if you don't have a cordless driver since IIRC there are 16 fasteners that need to come off. One of the things I noticed when I removed mine for the first time back in November was that the nylon threads in some of the retaining "nuts" on the frame were starting to strip. Sorry but do not know the part number of the fasteners off hand...

Easy to replace. Generic, non-OEM, less expensive are available.

I don't even run one on my car. I never installed it after my head gasket replacement.

I took mine off and threw it away. Helps let the heat out when I'm on the burnout pad :P

Several of those plastic underbody panels on my car have been coming off lately for me, usually on road trips. Just age seems to make them crack around the bolts where they are secured to the body.

Once one of them flies off, expect others to follow shortly. I was able to get some larger rubber washers at the hardware store and secure it on there. Seems to have held up so far, it's been several months.

cool, that p/n leads to the Toyota diagram that has p/n's for all the fasteners.

I actually have a bunch of different kinds, though only 3 of the most common in the engine bay. Tried to order 32 and the dealer came back with a Hall and Oates (No Can Do).

Less expensive front lower shield available at Auto Parts Warehouse & Rock Auto. Different size shields / part numbers for '01 - '03 and '04 - '06.
