Default Ls430 aftermarket mid pipe pics

Hello
Thought I'd share some insight on this common ls430. Had the infamous post cat/O2 sensor exhaust leak. 2002 145k miles from the rust belt. Got code p0430 or p0420 or both. Y pipe was "repaired" previously so didn't want to bandaid a bandaid. Leak was small but I got tired of the farting sound so I bought this Davico 58410 ypipe from rock auto and some high grade bolts and washers at ace hardware as well as cutting wheels for my grinder and went to town. Some helpful hints:
You do not need to unplug o2 sensors inside the cabin. Drivers side was a royal pain so I gave up and just unscrewed it gently. Wound it up a few times when reinstalling and woila.
Don't waste your time with old exhaust bolts. Just cut those suckers off. Use the smallest grinder wheel you can have and don't hit the brake lines hiding behind the heat shield. I cut off the bolt heads because they are easy to get too and if you get them flush with the flange they will just fall off. The slip fitting in the back gave me the most trouble. I spent an hour trying to get it loose. Flat head screw driver and or small pry bar finally did it.
Is it oem? No but for 200$ shipped to my door it works and fits as it should. No leaks or cel lights. Thought I'd share as rock auto pics are not very good.

How did you unscrew the O2 sensors from the Y-pipe without releasing them from rubber grommet on the floor pan and the connections inside the front under the carpet? The O2 wires must've been twisted to the max.

19mm flat wrench to loosen than by hand. It was close but worked - original O2 sensors wires are still intact. Tried taking drivers side carpet down but got discouraged took gas pedal off and carpet peeled back but still couldn't get at the #$&$ing connection so gave up the carpet was stuck to dash where your knee would hit and I didn't want to dissamble further. You can loosen the rubber grommet sensor wire boot in the floor from below by pushing up, I don't think it made a difference

I have to do this job soon. My pipe is cracked and I get P0430 every so often and I can hear a louder exhaust.

Did this Davico pipe bolt up properly with out any surgery or modifications??

I was going to get an exhaust shop to make something up, but if it's just plug and play I may tackle it myself.

Bolts up no problem. Comes with gaskets but no hardware. Removing the old bolts was the biggest pita. I used Jack stands in the back and ramps under front for more wiggle room. I went through 4 cheap metal cutting wheels (4.5 inch grinder) to get the bolts off. New pipe Install only took about 15 minutes, for a total of about 2.5hrs. My slip joint was on there tight so I used a flat head screw driver to wiggle the pipe off of the back slip joint, this took an hour and lots of profanity . Shop wanted what I paid for the pipe... Thought that was silly

Mine bolted up fairly well, but required a little bit of bending. I had a muffler shop install it for me.

@ls3some appreciate the pictures and post. I just got p0430 last night and from reading a lot of posts here, it sounds like the Y pipe. I am going find time to put the car up on the jack stand today and see if I can find any hole or cracks. I am planning to tackle this myself.

How is the Davico 58410 2 years later? Still working ok, or would you rather get an OEM or other brands?

I found this on eBay, currently onsale $138 with free shipping. Brand: All Star. Made in Canada. Has anyone installed this one?

That y-pipe on ebay is missing the rear catalytic/resonator. It's also not form fit at the rear connection to the center resonator. Compare to OEM, Davico, etc.
