Problem with smart key

I have a 2004 Lexus LS430, The red light flashes and also the green light flashes also, but non of the smart key functions work. When i turn the ignition it says that smart key is not detected while i have the smart key near the ignition. Please help

Obviously make sure the battery is good and if that is not the issue the key may need to be reprogrammed.

When mine did this I replaced the battery and it the problem went away.

Do you know what the price might be to reprogram the smart key remote ?

About $100 at the dealer...give or take.

How do you start the car now? With another smart key? Does it have a button for opening the trunk? The reason for asking is to find out if you have a "master" key. You will need the "Master" key for the dealer to program an additional (or new) key.
