Default Remove front seats to clean carpet?

Has anyone ever removed their front seats? I'd like to clean the carpet under them, so before I attempt it does anyone have any tips? Last time I removed a front seat from a car it was a 1979 Volvo and it was very easy. However these LS's have all kinds of extra parts and I bet the front seat weighs a ton. Is it easier to maybe just unbolt it and tilt it back into the rear of the cabin? I don't want to scratch any leather or trim pieces by trying to wrestle a 150-lb seat out of the car either.

Most cars only have 4 bolts holding down the seats. Ive never taken the LS's seats myself but i do work for a dealer and take seats out all the time. Id advise to just tilt back like you said and be careful of the yellow air bag harness and the other harness for the seats. You can tilt back gently and unplug all the plugs unless there is enough room to do what you need to do so you dont need to unplug anything. Also, if you have cooled seats id imagine there is a vent hose running up to the seat so be careful of that.

Relatively easy. Pop off the color matched cosmetic cover, and remove the bolt in each corner. You then unplug the harnesses and lift out. They are heavy and better handled by two than one. My recollection is that it was easier to push them back through the rear doors than to twist them through the front.

I did this when i first got my LS. I didn't disconnect any of the harnesses. I just unbolted & then tilted as far back as the harness would allow.
Just pop the overs off, then remove the bolts. Just make sure you torque the bolts back down because if you don't, you will feel the slightest movement while driving which irritates the cr*p out of me!
