Some blank CDs may actually be a bit thicker and cause an eject problem. If you're using a high quality CD you will likely never have a problem. Just stay away from cheap blank CDs. In my opinion.

I agree. Verbatim media is my favorite and very reliable. Cost more but you get what you pay for. CD's don't seem to be as sensitive as dual layer +R DVD's but Verbatim has definitely outperformed Memorex in my usage.

I have a Xm satellite unit installed, with the integrated iPod adapter which holds about 35,000 songs. So you see in my car the cd player is obsolete.

I've noticed this too. Some CD's also weight a little bit more or less than others.

I used to have this problem with my original Xbox video game console. The super expensive Memorex 4x CD-RW discs were the only burned CD's that worked because they weighted the same as real CD's. The cheap CD's didn't always work.

Well, I have to thank you guys for all this information. My wife's LS430 CD player displayed the "CD Error" and stopped playing and a local shop quoted me $380 to $450 to replace the drive depending if it was the Pioneer or Nakamichi (I was uncertain which one her vehicle has).

Did the "remove battery cable" technique and sure enough a CD ejected out of the carrier. I removed the 5 other discs, turned the power off, waited a few seconds, powered back up and reloaded and played all 6 CDs with no issues.

Thanks again!!!!!!! This is a great group of folks....

so I know this is rather long after the original post, but, I did the whole "disco battery" thing and it didnt work. Cd's were still jammed. then a random day I noticed the deck no longer said it was full so I ejected a Frank Sinatra disc. cleaned it put it back in and another disc and its back to being stuck.

My 02 LS has been doing this a lot lately. I used an index card with a few pieces of thin double sided tape attached to it and stuck it in the CD slot to pull the disc out. After 15 minutes of trying, the tape caught the bottom of the disc and pulled it out.
