Default Push button start, only in 2006?

Did only the 2006 LS430 come with push button start?

I dont recall seeing it on a lot of 430s, but I had the use of a 2006 a few years ago and it had it.

I searched but didnt really come up with an answer...

The LS430 did not come equipped with push button start in any years of production. Maybe it was an LS460 built in 06.

Perhaps you're thinking of SmartAccess keyless start? No need to insert key into ignition as long as the SmartAccess key is within range of detection.

Never has the LS430 had a push button start. Might be talking about an 2007 LS460, which were built in 2006.

I had the 05 LS430. While the key stayed in my pocket, I still had to turn the ignition to start, not push.

And that is the key-less ignition (start) system.

I always wondered if a push button can be cleanly done on an LS430. You gotta love that PUSH BUTTON TO START every time you get in the car.

Since the steering column lock seems to be electrical, it might be possible to activate the lock mechanism and electrical start and accessory functions with some kind of logic circuit off a newer car or aftermarket.

It would be cool if it could be done. A guy on here did a push start setup on his SC300 where he pressed the radio's power/volume ****. It was pretty cool.

Not bad.

But would look better with a fitment of an Avalon push button or similar in my opinion.

Probably could be done with the incorporation of an remote start system that can work with a push of a button. I used to do this type of work so it can happen.

Funny how the lowly 2005 Prius we used to own had push button start but the top of the line Lexus doesn't.

Adding that system ranges from $199-$600 as far as i can remember. Now adding the custom job of adding the push button and its installation labor can be an additional $75-$100. Depends on the installer.

I think that has something to do with generational tech application.

If someone knows how to really do it. I'm willing to pay them $700. That's not bad at all.

When that's done, will the remote features be able to be done. Like remote start Etc.
