Angry Stuck rear caliper piston

So, trying to finish pad change before dark, and when compressing the outside piston to insert the new pad, the inside piston fully extended (forgot to leave old pad in).

Now I can't compress the piston to insert the backside pad.

I'm guessing that I need to rotate the piston, but wanted to ping the forum to see if that is what it takes to get the piston compressed.

Thanks for the help.

I had this happen to my project car (not an LS) on my way to Va, ate the rotor up and it shot out of the rear of my car.
