Default Window shade parts?

Anybody have a link to where you can find UL window shade parts? My little nephew just broke off the tab on my drivers side rear main window shade. It's the little tab that you hold onto to raise or lower the shade. Also prevents the shade from retracting inside the slot. I might try to glue it but I'm sure it won't last. Ugh.

If you still have the tab you can use a 'Cyanoacrylate' super glue.

I work with the stuff and its strength is unreal, especially with plastics and composite type materials.

It will hold the tab on no problem.

Ah, been down this road before......Here is the information: Go to parts.com and search on your Lexus then Body Hardware -> Rear Door -> Interior trim. There are a lot of pages to go through to find the Sunshade then Vent Glass.

Thanks. I found the parts. Interesting that Lexus does not supply these parts. Only the back window. Shame to spend so much for a clip. I'm going to try to glue it. Just have to figure out a way to hold it in place while it sets. It's a pain. Not only does the end piece sit on a pin and pivot around, the tension of the window shade wants to whip it down into the door.

for the glue I mentioned ,,,you can buy an ' accelerator" which hardens it immediately.

apply glue, hold in place, spray accelerator ,,and its done ,,,u might need to touch it up a bit with black paint that's it

This is the stuff I use,,its seriously strong.

Would you lightly sand each piece for a flat surface before reattaching?

yes just lightly ,,there is no paint or residue on them so u don't need to so very much

just make sure you get a proper fit before u apply the accelerator

(edit) u can also order just one bottle and the accelerator, you don't need the whole kit , they come in 3 viscosity's, thin, medium or thick, you should get medium or thick whatevers cheaper.

Can I get away without the accelerator? I did grab a bottle of Loctite professional earlier on my way home. Its main ingredient is Cyanoacrylate. It's not very thick though. I need to somehow hold it together tight without moving for at least 2 min before letting it cure overnight. It's so small, doing it by hand I think it will move too much to seal properly.

that should do the trick then

you can buy the accelerator at most hardware stores now I think ,,its under 10 bucks ,,it will work with most if not all Cyanoacrylates.

if not you just need a steady hand to hold it in place for a minute or two
